Membrane filter has been used extensively in medical field to remove bacteria and viruses. Now, a novel hollow fiber design allows new application in production of high grade oil. The hollow fiber membrane can remove almost 100% suspended solids, bacteria, and all particulate matters responssible for turbidity in the oil. The crystal-clear oil produced is safe and can be directly consumed. When the filter is fouled severely, it can be backflushed.
